About Operations Center

The Operations Center provides 24 hour/day, 7 day/week alarm monitoring, facility response and emergency call center services to more than 400 University buildings.  We receive thousands of calls each year ranging from routine work requests for HVAC, electrical and plumbing issues to facility-related emergencies such as fires, floods or elevator entrapments.  In addition, the Operations Center:

  • Serves as the UL listed entity for monitoring all University fire alarm systems
  • Serves as a communications center during certain campus-wide emergencies
  • Initiates work requests and logs all calls and requests for service
  • Maintains an online contact and building procedures database known as FINS which facility managers can update and create specific protocols for a wide-variety of building related incidents
  • Maintains the DigSafe Notification System for emergency and non-emergency DigSafe requests
  • Monitors all elevator ring-down phones
